OTP Training Suite & Visual Redesign

  • Redesign McDonald’s Operations Technology Program (OTP) training materials to modernize the look, improve comprehension, and make complex restaurant technology systems more intuitive for employees worldwide. The initiative aimed to replace outdated static diagrams with interactive, visually engaging training content that accurately represents restaurant layouts, equipment zones, and workflows.

  • As Creative Director, I led the concept, design, and production of the new global OTP training system.

    • Visual Redesign: Transformed technical engineering-style floor plans into simplified, color-coded interactive diagrams that clearly communicate restaurant zones and their corresponding technology.

    • Animation & Interactivity: Produced motion graphics and interactive components that let learners explore restaurant layouts dynamically, tapping on zones to view related systems, hardware, and workflows.

    • Design System Leadership: Defined the creative framework, visual hierarchy, and interface patterns used across all OTP modules to ensure clarity, accessibility, and consistency.

    • Content Direction: Collaborated with instructional designers and developers to align visuals with learning objectives and translate complex technical content into approachable, on-brand storytelling.

  • The redesigned OTP suite provided a visually cohesive, highly interactive training experience that improved engagement and understanding across global operations. The program supports over 24,000 trained OTP professionals across the U.S. who help maintain and deploy restaurant technology systems. The new design now serves as a scalable model for future McDonald’s eLearning programs, helping global teams visualize how technology powers more than 13,000 restaurants and hundreds of thousands of connected devices worldwide.
